2018:VNF- BUR-90-008: Social Media Coordinator

Core Duties and Responsibilities:
Social Media Planning and Development

• Manage and coordinate the co-op’s entire social media presence, including: messaging and content (e.g., Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Pinterest, Google etc.). Write, develop and update online content.
• Work with Marketing team to collect content and shoot photography and video footage from various sources and venues, such as VNF staff, events, promotions and community outreach.
• Monitor all social media platforms to engage with community, repurposing relevant posts from other organization to further the co-op’s marketing needs. Address and help resolve customer complaints posted via social media.
• Utilize metrics to track impact on audience, content, views and competition. Consult with Marketing Manager and team to create new tactics or develop successful campaigns. Assist Marketing Manager in using data to develop strategies for increasing sales, engaging various audiences in authentic dialogue and differentiating the co-op from its competitors.
• Stay current and adaptable to changing social media systems. Read relevant publications and attend webinars/classes as time and budget allow.
• As requested:
o Participate in branding audit, training and support
o Attend and participate in departmental, editorial and promotional planning meetings
o Coordinate with Marketing Brand Manager on other marketing projects
o Assist with emergency communications


• Take over responsibility for designing Living Naturally. This includes planning issues with Marketing Manager and Marketing team, soliciting content from staff, maintaining publication calendar, and optimizing newsletter for online/mobile medium.
• Design or assist with design and production of other marketing publications, department and promotional signage, and web graphics.

Qualifications of the Position:
Mandatory Qualifications:
• B.S. in Marketing or related field with 1+ years previous professional social media experience, or
A.S. in Marketing or related field with 2+ years of previous professional social media experience, or
3+ years previous professional social media experience in each of the following areas:
     • Social Media strategic planning
     • Writing and monitoring social media content
     • Fluid understanding and previous use of: Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Linked In, Pinterest, etc.
     • Data analytics and reporting
• Previous design experience, with competency in Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, AI, Photoshop etc.)
• Strong organizational, time management and communication skills (verbal, listening, & written)
• Strong project management and organization skills with demonstrated ability to think critically and solve problems
• Ability to work independently or on a team with ability to meet deadlines, coordinate projects and work varied hours and days
• Proficiency in MS Office. Strong technical aptitude to learn and adapt to changing technology.
• Strong organizational, time management and communication skills (verbal, listening, & written)
• High ethical standards with personal integrity with the ability to convey a positive public image, acting in the best interests of the business
• Demonstrated objectivity, neutrality, and calmness under pressure and timely follow-through to commitments
• Detail oriented, able to multi-task and remain flexible to the changing needs of the business
• English proficiency; Friendly customer service with a sense of urgency
• Regular, predictable attendance

Preferred Qualifications:
• Previous experience in editing and/or proofreading
• Strong understanding of the retail, grocery/co-op, natural/organic food industry.

Physical Demands of Position:
• Ability to lift/push/pull/carry up 20+ pounds occasionally
• Manual dexterity with ability to grasp and perform repetitive motions with hands, wrists, and fingers for extended periods of time
• Close visual acuity to focus on and/or read data and words on a computer monitor for extended periods of time
• Ability to perform sedentary work for extended periods of time; standing and walking occasionally required
