Core Duties and Responsibilities:

Sales Floor, Produce Prep, and Backroom

• Greet and assist customers with special orders
• Stock and face displays fully without overcrowding
• Rotate older stock to front making space for new stock
• Replenish and culling several times daily
• Pull short-date or low-quality items, complete spoilage from properly and notify Produce Management of large quantities before disposing of them.
• Label unscanned items accurately with price tags or signs
• Keep backstock areas in order and notify Produce Manager of out-of-stocks
• Check in items using the invoice to verify piece count or damage and notify Receiving of discrepancies
• Prepare items according to checklists or requests per VNF standards
• Sanitizes work areas, sinks, worktables, and walls according to MN DOH regulations
• Follow food preparation/food handling sanitation procedures in compliance with MN DOH regulations
• Update stocking list as orders arrive and rotate overstock into storage

Qualifications of the Position:
Mandatory Qualifications:

• Excellent time management, organizational and communication (oral, aural, and written) skills
• Attentive and able to multi-task and remain flexible to the changing needs of the business
• Regular, predictable attendance

Preferred Qualifications:

• Previous customer service experience
• Familiarity with natural foods, grocery industry or cooperatives
Physical Demands of Position:
• Ability to lift/push/pull/carry up to 30 pounds frequently; 30-50+ pounds occasionally
• Manual dexterity with ability to reach, grasp and utilize hands, wrists, and fingers for extended periods of time
• General range visual acuity to evaluate and interact in working environment for extended periods of time
• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods of time
• Regular exposure to working in refrigerated environments
• Ability to climb ladders, kneel, crouch, and bend occasionally required
