Care Team Development Manager
Location:Bellingham, WA

Care Team Development Manager Opportunity Highlights:

  • Supervise the Clinical Supervisor and the MA Supervisor.

  • Create and execute the strategy for clinical support services in the nursing department and among
    the care teams in alignment with UCNW’s vision, medical scope of services, strategic goals and objectives, IHI’s Triple Aim, payer P4P programs and evidence-based practices.  This includes defining and implementing standards of care, procedures, workflows, standing orders, providing compliance oversight, developing training curriculum and plans that improve and optimized quality of care, patient flow and staff workflows.

  • Promote a patient-centered, multi-disciplinary, team-based approach in serving our patients and that achieves our quality standards, objectives and outcomes across our medical teams.

  • Leads UCNW’s Employee Health Program.

Ideal Candidate Offers:

  • Bachelor’s Degree, required.

  • Current WA State RN License, preferred.

  • Minimum of five years healthcare required, preferably in an outpatient setting.

  • Registered Nurse preferred. Others with significant experience in organizational development, re-engineering clinical processes or process improvement will be considered.

  1. Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively with other staff and management. Demonstrated skill in developing and maintaining productive work teams.
  2. Strong keyboarding skills.
  3. Excellent written communication skills including: business writing; policies and procedures; report preparation; training and implementation plans; and project plans.
  4. Excellent verbal communication skills including: public speaking; training; providing clear and concise direction; ability to develop positive working relationships with peers, providers, medical leadership and other stakeholders; portrays caring attitude.
  5. Strong leadership skills including: active listening; critical thinking; effective delegation; forging cooperative and constructive relationships with stakeholders and leadership; serving as an effective teacher/mentor/coach; building consensus and buy-in; is a team player; demonstrates stellar customer service skills; ability to plan, organize and direct effectively; ability to negotiate and enlist the cooperation and support of others; demonstrates agility to change; possesses strong strategic planning skills; demonstrates good analytical, problem-solving and decision-making skills; manages stress appropriately; is highly organized and manages time effectively.
  6. Ability to carry out supervisory responsibilities and oversight in accordance with the UCNW’s policies and procedures and applicable state, federal, and local laws, including standards, guidelines, and regulations that govern the medical clinic and as may be required by the Medical Operations Manager, Chief Operating Officer and/or the Medical/Associate Medical Director(s).
  7. Acts with integrity and compassion and fosters a culture of mission, trust, respect and accountability for outcomes.
  8. Maintain strict confidentiality with medical information, as well as other confidential information, and conform to HIPAA regulations.
  9. Keeps customer service and the mission of the organization in mind when interacting with clients, co-workers, and others, promoting a positive image for UCNW and fostering an ethical work environment.
  10. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and remain flexible in stressful conditions including frequent interruptions, public contact and occasional crisis situations.
  11. Knowledge of and commitment to an integrated care delivery model.
  12. Ability to understand and respond effectively and with sensitivity to special populations served by UCNW.  Special populations include those defined by race, ethnicity, language, age, sex, sexual orientation, economic standing, disability, migrant and seasonal workers, homeless, people living with HIV/AIDS, and others.
  13. Knowledge and experience with continuous quality improvement processes such as PDSA cycles.
  14. Proficient with computers & applicable software (i.e. Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, Internet, Electronic Medical Records, PowerPoint and other applicable software).
  15. Ability to collaboratively and effectively work across multiple departments towards a common solution.
  16. Ability to travel for training, collaboration with other organizations, and to other areas of community as necessary.
