Summary:

Upper Great Lakes Family Health (UGLFH) is looking for a detail-oriented and people-focused HR Specialist to play a key role in supporting both our Human Resources and Finance teams. This dynamic position combines talent acquisition, payroll administration, timesheet management, and accounts payable responsibilities, helping ensure smooth daily operations while contributing to an exceptional employee experience.

In this role, you'll be at the center of critical organizational functions, assisting with recruitment and onboarding, supporting payroll accuracy and compliance, managing vendor payments, and serving as a trusted resource for employees and managers. You'll also collaborate on employee engagement and retention initiatives, helping UGLFH attract, support, and retain a strong workforce.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support recruitment efforts by reviewing applications, coordinating interviews, and assisting with onboarding new team members.
  • Help process payroll, oversee timesheet accuracy, and ensure compliance with payroll policies and retirement contribution requirements.
  • Generate and review payroll reports, manage deductions and garnishments, and support timely payroll processing.
  • Serve as a resource for employees and managers regarding payroll and accounts payable procedures.
  • Process accounts payable transactions, review invoices, maintain vendor records, and ensure timely and accurate payments.
  • Assist with accounting functions, accounts receivable tasks, and special projects that support organizational success.
  • Partner with the HR team on employee engagement and retention initiatives that strengthen workplace culture.

Job Qualifications:
  • Associate's degree in relevant subject area such as Accounting, Human Resources, Business Administration, Health Care Management, or related field.  Equivalent experience is acceptable in lieu of a degree.
  • Well-developed oral and written communications skills to meet a variety of communication needs.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
