What You’ll Do

As a Pediatric Nurse with UGLFH, you will play a vital role in creating a welcoming, efficient, and compassionate care environment for children, families, and our clinical team. Every day brings the opportunity to make a real impact by:

  • Providing exceptional nursing care to pediatric patients within the scope of your license, ensuring children feel safe, supported, and cared for.
  • Assessing pediatric patient needs, developing care plans, and collaborating with providers to deliver comprehensive care.
  • Supporting families with education, resources, and reassurance to help them navigate their child’s health journey.
  • Preparing children for exams and treatments with professionalism and compassion, helping them feel comfortable and at ease.
  • Helping with the management of pediatric chronic conditions, partnering with families to support ongoing care and improved outcomes.
  • Administering and tracking pediatric immunizations to promote preventative health and long-term wellness.
  • Championing preventative care by managing an assigned pediatric patient registry to improve health outcomes and support long-term wellness. You will build meaningful relationships with children and families and truly make a lasting impact in their lives.
  • Offering support, guidance, and mentorship to fellow clinical staff, with a focus on pediatric care.
  • Enhancing the patient and family experience while helping providers be as effective and productive as possible.
  • Demonstrating advanced clinical judgment, critical thinking, and growing your expertise in pediatric nursing within a supportive, team-centered environment.

Job Qualifications:
  • State of Michigan unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) licensure.
  • Evidence of Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
