Job Summary:

The Medical Driver drive IRA residents accompanied, by Direct Support Staff, safely to and from designated appointments and assists as needed.

Duties & Responsibilities:


The Medical Driver serves as support to get individuals to appointments and ensures safety of the individuals by complying with all speed limits and safe driving practices. Serves as a role model and advocate; ensures individuals’ safety by assisting with providing consistent supervision and observation at medical appointments, in the Day Habilitation Setting and/or Residence.

Education & Experience

A High School Diploma, valid non-restrictive NYS driver’s license, at least two years of driving experience is required. As well as some experience or willingness to serve people who are mentally/physically disabled.
Physical Requirements:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to communicate clearly. The employee is occasionally required to sit and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
