The Community Psychiatric Supports and Treatment Services worker in the Children & Family Treatment Support Services Program provides goal-directed supports and solution-focused interventions intended to address challenges associated with a behavioral health need.

Duties & Responsibilities:

The Community Psychiatric Support & Treatment worker (CPST) provides activities that are intended to assist the child/youth and family/caregivers to achieve stability and functional improvement in daily living, personal recovery and/or resilience, family and interpersonal relationships in school and community integration. CPST can also be provided in coordination with clinical treatment services, to address identified rehabilitative needs within a comprehensive treatment plan. Services are delivered in a trauma informed, culturally and linguistically competent manner.

Education & Experience

A bachelor’s degree and certification in an Evidenced Based Practice consistent with the CPST component being delivered OR A bachelor’s degree and three years applicable experience in children’s mental health, addiction, and/or foster care/child welfare/juvenile justice or other related human services field and no certification in an Evidenced Based Practice is required.

A master’s degree in social work, psychology, or in related human services, plus one year of applicable experience or who have been certified in an Evidenced Based Practice (in lieu of one-year experience requirement) is preferred.

Bilingual Spanish Speaking preferred.

Physical Requirements:

Must be able to sit or stand for long periods of time.  Must be able to lift at least 10 pounds. Must be able to use a computer, type and answer phone.
