Duties & Responsibilities: The Teacher Assistant assists the classroom teacher in carrying out the academic and behavioral objectives set forth in the child’s IEP by providing direct instructional services to students and performing non-teaching support duties under the supervision of the classroom teacher. Education & Experience NY State Certification – Teacher Assistant and experience working with children. Must obtain an AA or equivalent in Early Childhood/Special Education within 1 year of hire. Bilingual ( English/Spanish) preferred. Physical Requirements: Able to provide physical “hands-on” intervention when necessary.
