Interested in making a difference in your community while building a career? Join our team as a Bilingual Housing Case Manager!

The Housing Case Manager provides direct case management services to individuals and families who are homeless or at risk of becoming homeless, focusing on helping them achieve housing stability. We use Housing First, Harm-Reduction and Trauma-Informed models of case management that is client driven, solution focused and facilitates change and movement toward self-sufficiency. We frequently provide support to households living with mental health conditions and/or substance use disorders. Specific duties may include, but are not limited to home visits, intakes, the tracking of services, and assisting in program development. This position is full-time in the office or in the field working with clients.

We are currently hiring for bilingual housing case manager positions in the following programs:

• Family motel case manager – serving homeless families with children seeking emergency shelter through temporary motel placement.
• Family prevention case manager – serving families at risk of homelessness who may need support finding new housing or working on solutions to maintain current housing.

This position offers three different full-time schedule options after introductory training period including:

• Standard: Monday-Friday 8am-5pm (8 hrs)
• Flex: Monday-Thursday 7:30-5pm (9 hrs), Friday 8am-12pm (4 hours)
• Compressed: Four 10 hour shifts 7am-5:30pm, with Mondays or Fridays off

This position starts between $21.00-$25.00 per hour dependent on experience. Annual increases provided (dependent on funding and performance).

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

1. Case management experience in a social service setting OR Bachelor’s degree in Human Services, Psychology, Sociology, or another related field.
2. Bilingual skills required. Must speak and read with fluency and proficiency in Spanish/English.
3. Experience working with persons living with mental illness preferred
4. Experience working with persons experiencing homelessness preferred.
5. Knowledge of signs/symptoms of substance use disorder and experience working with persons with SUD preferred.

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS

• Valid Washington State Driver’s License by time of hire.
• Driving abstract must be submitted upon request and must be eligible to drive under Opportunity Council’s policy for duration of employment.

Remote Work: Job is on site, not eligible for remote work.

Essential Employee: No

Working Conditions: Work is generally performed in a fast–paced office environment with frequent interruptions and occasional crisis situations. Frequently requires travel within the agency’s service areas for community resource networking, meetings, special workshops, speaking engagements, landlord contacts, and other job-related professional activities.
