About This Position

The Computer Aided Design Drafter will collaborate closely with electrical engineers to transform conceptual designs into detailed schematics and technical drawings. This role involves creating precise diagrams, such as wiring layouts and system plans, which are crucial for guiding the construction or modification of electrical systems. The Computer Aided Drafter plays a key role in bridging the gap between innovative ideas and practical implementation, ensuring that all designs are accurately represented and easily understood by the engineering and production teams..

Responsibilities

  • Create drawings for new and existing electrical products (PCBs, wire harnesses, ground support equipment)
  • Create documentation packages (drawings, procedures, specifications, etc.) for new and existing products
  • Observe and assist engineering and production teams in resolving issues
  • Communicate challenges with leadership
  • Support the design, development, prototyping, and documentation of electrical systems for unmanned aircraft.
  • Collaborate closely with other engineering disciplines (mechanical, aerospace) and departments (production, quality assurance).
  • Participate in documentation peer reviews.
  • Maintain high standards quality within the team.

Required Qualifications

  • U.S. persons, per ITAR definition 
  • Ability to draft, read, and interpret technical drawings and schematics.
  • Familiarity with PCBs and wire harnesses.
  • Strong people and communication skills, willing to work with others
  • Experience with the following:
  • Creating production quality engineering drawings.
  • Altium or similar PCB design software.
  • Microsoft office products.
  • Attention to detail and quality.
  • Able to work cooperatively on a team

Preferred Qualifications

  • A.S. or B.S. in Electrical Engineering or similar
  • Hands-on PCB or harness testing and assembly using common electrical tools (multimeter, oscilloscope, soldering iron, crimpers, etc.)
  • Designing, documenting, or assembling electrical equipment, such as PCBs and wire harnesses
  • Altium
  • JIRA
  • Zuken E3, Solidworks, or similar 2D CAD software
  • Component library creation and management
  • Integrating electrical, software, mechanical systems.
  • Quality inspections and improvements.
  • Knowledge of the following:
  • Avionics and electrical systems
  • UAV or RC Plane operation
  • Ground support equipment systems and general associated equipment
  • Familiarity with the industrial specifications and requirements (ISO, MIL, ASME, IPC, etc.)
