Job Description
Catapult Consultants is seeking a Director of Accounting with government contracting accounting experience to run the accounting and back office operation of the business.   This individual will report directly to the CEO and be responsible for all aspects of the accounting function including invoicing, payroll, accounts payable, managing cash, annual and quarterly filings, and some contract administration.  The ideal candidate will be able to work remotely most of the time, but be available for weekly in person meetings and occasional onsite work days in Arlington, VA.   The ideal candidate can think both strategically and work independently with day-to-day transactions.  The position is the key to the month-end close process and is responsible for timely financial reports created for inside the organization. This ideal candidate is organized, a responsive team-player with the ability to quickly prioritize among numerous tasks, and capable of functioning within a small, but busy government contracting company. 

Specific Responsibilities: 
• Perform all accounting day-to-day activities including preparing customer billings, processing payroll, accounts payable, etc.
 Prepare and process all labor distribution for job costing and payroll purposes
 Perform General Ledger reconciliations on an ongoing basis Prepare monthly and annual financial statements
• Provide contract administration Communicate with co-workers, management, customers, and others in a courteous and professional manner
• Conform with and abide by all regulations and policiesof the Company
 Filing quarterly GSA IFF reports.
 Review and prepare contract modifications

Minimum Qualifications:
• Must have a Bachelor’s Degree with 5 years of experience in a general accounting environment preferably with job cost accounting experience
 5 years experience processing Accounting for a government contractor
 5 years experience working with government contractor indirect rates (Fringe, G&A, OH)
 5 years experience Invoicing on Federal Contracts Knowledge and experience with GAAP, FAR, CAS
• Microsoft Nav experience desired
 Exceptional written and verbal communication skills and the ability to handle multiple priorities
• Two years calculating and producing indirect rate reports

 

Abilities Required:
• While performing the duties of this job the employee is regularly required to sit and use hands to finger, handle, or feel while typing at a computer keyboard.
• The employee is occasionally required to stand, walk, reach, or lift objects up to 10 pounds.
• The employee is frequently required to talk or hear. The vision requirements include: close vision.
