Job Description

Catapult Consultants is now hiring a Senior Software Engineer. The Senior Software Engineer will provide technical and analytical support to the business users of various custom applications utilized by a healthcare client for a government agency. This software engineering position focuses on software development but also goes beyond programming to include such things as eliciting customers’ requirements and designing and testing software solutions to meet the client’s business user’s needs. This position will also support implementing, configuring, and maintaining a highly complex Java-based Ephesoft Transact enterprise installation used to support over 20 million pages of medical records annually. Additionally, this position will assist in the development operating software that can be used to support Robotic Process Automation (RPA) tasks and other artificial intelligence programs or applications. 


Specific Responsibilities:

• Engineer web-based, multi-tier business applications utilizing Angular Framework, ASP.Net 4.5, C#, VB.NET, AJAX, Entity Framework, jQuery API, MVC, WCF, and JavaScript languages.

Develop software applications using relational databases, in particular Microsoft SQL Server and SSRS. 

• Support implementing, configuring, and maintaining a highly complex Java-based document capture enterprise installation.

• Assist in the development operating software that can be used to support Robotic Process Automation (RPA) tasks and other artificial intelligence programs

• Assist with application testing to create the appropriate application work products (programming, documentation, test plans).

• Develop, maintain and implement new business applications, modules and features using scientific analysis and mathematical models to predict and measure outcome and system performance; modify and enhance new and existing business applications to improve functionality and performance.

• Assist in the documentation of business requirements from user workshops and software design meetings and perform data analysis to support internal and external business needs.

• Obtain and evaluate information from users on factors such as reporting, cost, tracking, review and/or security needs to determine hardware configuration.

• Document and analyze user needs and software requirements to determine feasibility of design and translate these requirements into a set of specifications.

• Provide support to diagnose and resolve medium to high complexity application problems of a business, management or technical nature.

• Support the established change management process and ensure the consistency and quality of the source code control repository, which involves support of code reviews, writing test cases, and conducting audits.

• Facilitate communication between multiple business teams and the applications team to support day-to-day application support activities.


Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree (Computer Science, Software Engineering, MIS, Information Technology or a related discipline preferred). 

• Four or more years of software programming and testing experience, or three or more years of experience if candidate has a Masters’ degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.  

• High proficiency level with relevant programming/query languages and software platforms, including HTML, ASP.NET, C#, Ajax , WCF, MVC, SQL Server, Oracle, and/or other software development tools to perform various types of programming.

• Experience with one or more of the following technologies: .NET Framework, C#, Entity Framework, jQuery, MVC and MS SQL Server.

• Experience developing and maintaining Web Services using WSDL, UDDI, DISCO and SOAP Protocol and .NET Remoting.

• Experience working with relational databases to facilitate software programming.

• Experience working with RPA tools or other relevant AI programs.

• Experience utilizing Software Engineering Life Cycle best practices to include Agile Development Methodology practices.

• Demonstrated analytical and problem solving skills for design, creation and testing of software programs.  Must exhibit well-developed programming skills.

• Excellent oral and written communication skills to work effectively with team members, support personnel, and end users.
