Position Summary:
The Cass County Health Department is looking for an individual for providing excellent customer service and administrative support to ensure the smooth operation of the dental clinic. This position serves as the first point of contact for patients, manages front office functions, coordinates appointments, maintains accurate patient information, and supports the dental team in delivering high-quality patient care.

Salary Range:

$17.50-$18.50 Based on experience 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Answers telephone, schedules appointments, and greets and directs patients, salespeople, and visitors.
  • Instructs new patients through completion of electronic intake, medical history, and registration forms using Phreesia.
  • Prepares/updates patient files including patient information in computer.
  • Appointment book control - schedule appointments, keeping schedule full, confirm appointments, follow-up on all missed appointments.
  • Maintains appropriate level of accounts receivable - collects money from patient day of appointment if applicable and conduct follow-up calls to notify patients of past-due balances and discuss payment options.
  • Performs end of day procedures; count cash drawer, print daily payment ledger.
  • Assists other dental staff as needed:clean rooms, sterilize hand pieces and equipment, put away supplies, etc.
  • Confirms appointment with patients 3 days prior to appointment day.
  • Compiles and scans patient forms such as registration, extraction consents, proof of income, and miscellaneous correspondence on a daily basis.

    Education and/or Experience

  • Six months to one year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

     

    Language Skills

  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals.
  • Demonstrates effective written communication skills, including the ability to compose professional correspondence, emails, and patient communications.
  • Demonstrates effective verbal communication skills when interacting with patients, coworkers, and small groups, conveying information clearly, professionally, and courteously.
