Position Summary:
Oversees all aspects of the financial obligations including all journal and subsidiary ledgers, calculates and prepares agency payroll and reviews new hire employee personnel files, and payroll related changes. Manages a variety of general office activities by performing the following duties personally or through subordinate supervisors.

Salary Range: 

$110,000-$130,000 Annual Salary based on experience  

Key Responsibilities: (Other duties may be assigned)

  • Develop and implement organizations financial strategy to support short and long term goals
  • Advise Administrator and Board of Health of Financial Performance and opportunities
  • Lead financial forecasting , long range planning, and capital planning
  • Maintains all aspects of accounting, payroll including tax reporting, accounts payable/receivable, and financial controls
  • Ensure accurate, timely financial statements and reports
  • Annual budgeting process and ongoing budget monitoring
  • Analyze variances and recommend corrective actions
  • Support department management with financial planning and cost management
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state and local financial policies
  • Thorough communication within the company
  • Oversees and monitors finance and accounting staff
  • Communicating and reporting to outside agencies
  • Promote continuous improvement, efficiency and professional development within the department
  • Monitor cash flow, revenue, expenses and profitability
  • Analyze financial trends and variances
  • Prepares and maintains all tax filings, including W-2, W-3, 1099 and 1096

 

Essential Duties:

  • Oversees audits, tax filings and regulatory reporting
  • Oversees the procedures for systemic retention, protections, retrieval, transfer and disposal of records
  • Reviews new personnel file to ensure accuracy
  • Reviews daily deposits for accuracy
  • Reviews annually financial policies and procedures
  • Annual review of benefits for team members

 

 

 

Supervisory Responsibilities

 

Directly supervises one (1) employee in the financial department and 4-7 employees as secondary supervisor. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s polices and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

Education and/or Experience

 

  • Associates degree or equivalent in accounting
  • 5 years’ experience and/or training preferred but not essential

 

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations

  • Current Driver’s License
