Position Summary:

 The Dentist provides high- quality, patient-centered oral health care, focusing on delivering comprehensive dental services with an emphasis on prevention, patient education, access to care, and reducing oral health disparities in the community. The Dentist works as part of an integrated care team, collaborating with medical, administrative staff and other entities to support whole-person care by performing the following duties.

Salary Range:

$180,000.00-$200,000.00 Based on Experience



Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Provide comprehensive dental care, including examinations, cleanings, restorative procedures, extractions, and emergency treatments
  • Examine teeth and diagnose a patient’s diseases, injuries, and malformations of the teeth, gums and related oral structures using x-rays and intraoral examinations
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans for patients
  • Educate patients on oral hygiene, preventative care, and treatment options to promote long-term oral health
  • Maintain accurate, timely, and compliant documentation in the electronic health record (EHR)
  • Collaborate with medical providers and care teams on integrated initiatives and oral-systemic health management
  • Supervise and collaborate with dental hygienists, dental assistants, and support staff to ensure efficient clinic operations
  • Follow infection control, sterilization, and OSHA safety protocols at all times
  • Attends and participates in all staff meetings

Qualifications

  • Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) or Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD) from an accredited school
  • Current license to practice dentistry in Illinois in good standing
  • Current license for controlled substance in Illinois
  • Current DEA registration
  • CPR/BLS Certification
  • Strong commitment to health equity, cultural humility, and patient-centered care

 

 

Language Skills

  • Ability to read, analyze and interpret common scientific and technical journals, financial reports and legal documents.
  • Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies or members of the business community.
  • Ability to write speeches and articles for publication that conform to prescribed style and format.
  • Ability to effectively present information to top management, public groups and/or boards of directors.

 

 

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations

  • Current license to practice dentistry in Illinois.
  • Current license for controlled substance in Illinois.
  • DEA registration.
  • Current CPR certification.
  • Current driver’s license.
  • Valid automobile insurance.

  • May need to occasionally life and/or move up to 25 pounds
