Login Now Social Worker Location:TRIBE Department:Social Services FT/PT Status:Part Time Job Responsibilities: *** Part Time Position*** POSITION SUMMARY: The Social Worker provides community-based support services to tribal members. Services are strength-based, person-centered, and culturally and trauma-informed. Responsibilities entail crisis stabilization and direct community based services to tribal members, including but not limited to case management, coordination of our educational advocacy project, development of preventive services, facilitation of groups and community activities, collaboration and linkages to community resources and agencies, and maintenance of case records and progress notes. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Support tribal members in accessing services and problem solving on how to meet an array of medical, mental health, educational, spiritual, social and concrete needs; Collaborate across systems of care to address complex needs of tribal members struggling with trauma, loss, substance abuse, and domestic violence; Respond to crisis situations; Cultivate and maintain relationships with community members and providers; Coordination and oversight of educational advocacy project; Development and facilitation of groups, trainings, activities and programming for the community; Empower tribal members and when necessary advocate on their behalf; Participate in individual and/or group supervision; Maintain professional behavior at all times; Attend all required trainings; and Complete all required paperwork and progress notes in a timely fashion. Other assignments as deemed necessary. Job Qualifications: Minimum Qualifications: 1. Bachelor Degree in social work, psychology, or related field; 2. Previous clinical experience; 3. At least three (3) years of related work experience; 4. Tribal Social Worker primarily assigned to ICWA MUST have a Master’s Degree in social work; 5. Demonstrated emotional stability, adaptability, patience, self-control, and tact; 6. Must possess good communication skills, a professional appearance, good judgment in moral, ethical, cultural, and spiritual matters; 7. Must be able to work independently and as a team member; 8. Must be able to communicate effectively and professionally both verbally and in writing; 9. Must have cultural sensitivity to the needs of the Indian community; 10. Able to handle multiple issues at once; 11. Must have a valid driver’s license and provide dependable registered and insured vehicle for program transportation; and 12. Must be willing to work evening hours as needed. Preferred Qualifications: 1. Masters in Social Work or currently working towards attaining an MSW; 2. Five (5) years of related work experience; 3. Experience with tribal families, at-risk youth, elders, substance abuse, and domestic violence; 4. Knowledge in issues related to suicide.
