Login Now Housing Director Assistant Location:TRIBE Department:HOUSING FT/PT Status:Full Time Job Responsibilities: POSITION SUMMARY: The Housing Director Assistant will be responsible, under direction of the Housing Director; Bear River Development Commission, Tribal Council for ensuring that policies approved by the Tribe are in compliance and managing day to day housing programs. Must be able to maintain a professional and courteous manner with residents, tenants, visitors, vendors, and fellow employees. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned. Must practice safety precautions and be safety conscious at all times. Assist in developing, maintaining, and revising policies and procedures for the general operation of the compliance program and its related activities to prevent illegal, unethical, or improper conduct. Assist in alleged violations of rules, regulations, policies, procedures, and standard of conduct by evaluating or recommending the initiation of investigative procedures. Develops and oversees a system for uniform handling of such violations with Bear River Development Commission and Housing Department. Reports unusual or extraordinary circumstances and/or potential violations regarding the unit or residents to the proper authorities and/or Housing Director; Bear River Development Commission Provides reports on a regular basis, and as directed or requested, to keep Bear River Development Commission and Housing Director informed of the operation and progress of compliance efforts. Ensures proper reporting of violations or potential violations to appropriate authorities Institutes and maintains an effective compliance communication program for the organization, heightened awareness and understanding of new and existing compliance issues and related policies and procedures through workshops and/or meetings. Works with Housing Director; Housing Compliance Officer; Bear River Development Commission; and others as appropriate to develop effective compliance training program; including appropriate introductory training for new residents; tenants as well as ongoing training for residents; tenants. Job Qualifications: QUALIFICATIONS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Background screening required with accordance with the Housing Policy. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE: Must be eighteen (18) years of age; and High school diploma or its equivalent; Must have a Associates Degree (A.A.) or equivalent from a two-year college or a certificate from a technical school; or two years progressively responsible related property management experience and/or training; or combination of education and experience within the past 5 years. CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS: Shall possess a valid driver's license Must be able to be covered by agency's vehicle insurance. COMPUTER OPERATIONS Advanced personal computer skills.
