ENR Assistant

Job Responsibilities:

POSITION SUMMARY:  Performs clerical, admin, and field work duties for the Environmental and Natural Resources department including preparing documents, reviewing documents, submitting reports, taking Indoor Air Quality samples, and data entry.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:

  1. Maintain administrative order within the department.
  2. Maintain and build upon various existing environmental projects.
  3. Maintain a departmental strategic plan.
  4. Follow procedures for taking Indoor Air Quality samples in tribal buildings and tribal member’s homes.
  5. Research and write documents.
  6. Submit reports to General Council and Tribal Council.
  7. Review and research environmental documents and issues.
  8. Assist with completing objectives from the US EPA GAP grant and submit quarterly reports.
  9. Attend trainings in various parts of the country, as requested, relative to position responsibilities.
  10. Strong interpersonal and time management skills.
  11. Strong self-motivation
  12. Ability to produce formal documents.
  13. Must be willing to work with a variety of people.
  14. Must be flexible and willing to take direction.
  15. Other duties as assigned.

 

AUTHORITY/SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: No supervisory responsibilities.

QUALIFICATIONS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

 


Job Qualifications:

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

  • High School Diploma/GED; Related college courses desired
  • Two years of recent work in the environmental field.
  • Working knowledge of chronological and alphabetical filing systems.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:

  • Shall possess a valid driver's license.
  • Must be able to be covered by agency's vehicle insurance.
  • Able to obtain First Aid and CPR Certification.

COMPUTER OPERATIONS

  • Proficient personal computer skills including electronic mail, record keeping, routine database activity, word processing, spreadsheet, graphics, etc.
