Login Now Grant Writer Location:TRIBE Department:ADMINISTRATION FT/PT Status:Full Time Job Responsibilities: POSITION SUMMARY: Under general supervision of the Executive Director of Tribal Government Operations, provides a range of services including, but not limited to assisting in the preparation and submission of proposals, and acceptance of grants and contracts; assisting in the review and tracking of program compliance with existing grant and contract requirements. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following: Works closely with staff in developing and transforming ideas into grant proposals; interacts with all departments involved in grant-funding activities. Participates in meetings and discussion in which decisions affecting grant program applications and follow through are made. Responsible for conducting the full range of activities required to prepare, submit, and manage grant proposals to foundations and government sources. Develops and maintains a grant database consisting of grants, funding sources, reporting requirements, funding period, responsible program or department or other essential data, and notifies Directors of grant status, prepares or assists departments/programs with reports, contract and grant modifications, amendments and other areas as appropriate. Research federal agency rules and regulations for grant proposal requirements. Complies with all grants reporting as required by grantor agency. Ensures that Bear River Band of the Rohnerville Rancheria has reasonably up to date needs assessment data to help guide the appropriate strategic responses to meet the needs of the membership. Prepares and submits information for periodic reports to the Tribal Council on grant application activity; prepares other interim reports as requested by the Executive Director of Tribal Government Operations. When new grant proposals are successfully funded the Grant Writer shall be responsible for developing a written implementation plan to guide the department manager and project director in administering the new program/project and shall monitor the grant compliance activities. Makes appointments with foundation officers and other prospects, arranges for onsite tours for supporters (foundation officers, foundation trustees). Tracks statistics relevant to development and provides department with written materials necessary for reporting purposes. Maintains comprehensive knowledge of particular areas involved in identifying and soliciting grants. Other duties may be assigned. Job Qualifications: EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE: Bachelor’s degree in English or related field desired with formal grant writing training and three (3) years of government grant writing experience; or (1.*) A combination of experience and education may be acceptable.CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS: Shall possess a valid driver's license and be insurable by agencies insurance.COMPUTER OPERATIONS Highly computer literate, excellent skills in word processing and spreadsheets, and familiar with Microsoft Office Professional and related software programs.
