The Child and Family Advocate is responsible for providing parent education and support services to families for the purposes of reunification, prevention, and family preservation.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • assessing family safety and reporting any concerns regarding the safety of children to supervisor immediately.
  • accepting referrals from the referral agency and scheduling families for services.
  • coordinating and facilitating meetings for each family accepted; which will include the family, referral source, and other family supports.
  • providing services to each referred family and completes appropriate parenting training curriculum.
  • collaborating with referral source to develop a plan in meeting program requirements and services provided for each client.
  • providing required documentation in accordance with program standards and contract obligations.
  • meeting with referral source personnel regularly to provide ongoing reports of the family’s progress.
  • facilitating monthly group meetings with community providers and families, as appropriate.
  • maintaining appropriate professional boundaries with clients and families.
  • asses family’s strengths and needs.
  • scheduling and coordinating visits and transportation of clients and families.
  • meeting with families to discuss goals, strengths, and opportunities for improvement.
  • inputting information into the electronic data bases.
Job Qualifications:
 
Bachelor’s degree in social work or related field.
Child welfare experience preferred.
