Description:

Serve as a cook and performinggeneral food preparation and cooking duties, and food service sanitationduties.
 
Performs cooking and food preparation duties including therapeutic diets.

Serves meals to clients.

Determines portions to be cooked (production).

Maintains the work area, washes and sanitizes dishes, utensils, pots, pans, counter tops and other equipment used in meal preparation.

Completes appropriate labeling of trays and paying close attention to diet needs.

Assures that pantry, cabinets, refrigerators, exits and entrances are locked prior to leaving facility.

Assists in the purchasing, receiving, and inventory control of food and kitchen supplies.

Ensures that food and equipment temperatures, and food substitutions, are recorded appropriately on logs.

Performs daily cleaning assignments listed on cleaning schedule and signs schedule.

Assists in menu preparation and planning.

May be required, at the discretion of the unit supervisor, to complete an extended work shift or schedule to ensure completion of essential duties or adequate coverage of the unit/program for safety/security purposes.

Delivers meals to the PATH (Positive Alternative to Hospitalization) and EPH (Eastside Psychiatric Hospital) units.

Rate of Pay:  $15.00-$17.00/hr., depends on experience

ShiftYou will work in absence of regular staff on an as-needed basis.


Education and Experience:
  • Prior food service experience preferred.

 Must have the ability to:

Plan and direct food service for groups of people.

Cook meals and train others in food service procedures and techniques.

Assist in planning and preparing bulk food purchases.

Plan, organize, and coordinate work assignments.

Establish and maintain effective working relationships demonstrating understanding, patience, and tact in dealing with patients, personnel, and the general public.
