Description:

LPN's delivers nursing care, applies current nursing principles andtechniques in the care and treatment of patients, takes vital signs and administers medicationas prescribed, assists physicians inpatient management and treatment, provides nursing assessment, monitoring, education, and treatmentservices and activities, provides crisisintervention.  In addition, LPN's prepares and maintainspatient records, and completes nursingassessments under the supervision of an RN.

 Completes pre-admission nursingassessments at the request of E&A. Completes admission Nursing Assessments in accordance with Client RecordHandbook and unit procedure specifications. Obtains RN review and sign-off on Nursing Assessments as required.  Incorporates findings in client service andnursing care plans as directed.

Receives, documents andimplements/carries out Admission, Standing/Routine and ad hoc physician ordersin accordance with unit procedures. Conducts “read back” process for each verbal order (EPH and PCCpermitted) in accordance with Agency policy/unit procedures.  Provides and documents direct nursing care asneeded in accordance with unit procedures and approved Treatment Plans/physician'sorders.  Documents according to JCAHOstandards.


Performs ongoing nursingsupervision, assessment and monitoring of patients.  Follows-up on client medical complaints.  Ensures Family Practice Physician/ARNP isnotified of clients needing admission physicals, consults, or otherservices.  Notifies physician of changesin client's condition.  Documents shiftand ad hoc nursing care progress notes in accordance with unit procedures.

 

Administersmedication and documents administration in accordance with unitprocedures.  Organizes medicationroom. Verifies proper identification of patient using two identifiers(photograph and name) for each medication administration and clinical testprocedure in accordance with Agency policy/Unit procedure. Maintains unitcompliance with applicable medication management, storage and narcoticcontrol policies and procedures. Audits on a regular basis to verify compliance with unitprocedures. Oversees the proper and accurate completion/update of patientMARs in accordance with unit procedures. Serves as Medication Captain of monthly medication room inspectionsand inpatient monthly drug inspection forms are completed each month.  Orders medications from Pharmacy inadvance to prevent deficiency.


Education and Experience:
  • Licensed as a practical nurse in accordance with Florida statue 464.
  • Previous psychiatric experience preferred
Shift: Saturday & Sunday, 7:30pm-8:00am

Rate of Pay: Depends on LPN experience. Less than 3 years of experience is $17.00/hr plus shift differential. Greater than 3 years of experience is $18.00/hr plus shift differential. 

To be considered for employment, you will be required to undergo a criminal background check, employment references check, and drug screening. In addition you must have a current and valid driver's license with no more than 6 points. A 3 year driving record will also be required upon hire.
