Summary:

Community Alliance, a leader in community mental health care in Nebraska for over forty years, is seeking a Psychiatric APRN  to work in our behavioral health care setting integrated with primary care services.  This role is responsible for providing direct client services including psychiatric evaluations, diagnoses , and medication management. Will also function as a key member of a coordinated care team, consulting with and supported by other Community Alliance behavioral health staff. The current client population is adult, but is moving in the direction of serving all ages and providing lifespan care.  

This position is in the office with some telehealth services provided with client remote
The core hours for this position are Monday - Friday, 8:30 AM - 5:00 PM
May have occasional evening shift from 5:00 PM - 7:00 PM on Thursdays

 



Duties Include:
  • Conduct psychiatric assessments, including psychiatric history, course of illness, response to treatment, mental status examination, and diagnoses.

  • Prescribe psychotropic medications and conduct regular assessments of therapeutic responses and side effect; educate client regarding medications.

  • Provide psychotherapy and/or other treatment interventions, or refer for such as may be clinically indicated.

  • Submit written reports, oral testimony and presentation of opinion in board of mental health commitment and other legal proceedings. Will participate in a wide range of treatment, rehabilitation, and support services matters (e.g., Social Security applications, prior authorization of medication).

  • Document provision of psychiatric services provided in a manner consistent with Community Alliance policies and procedures and accepted professional standards.

  • Participate in the development of the treatment plan for person served.

  • Collaborate in assessment of physical health and coordinating medical treatments with psychiatric treatment.

  • Communicate/coordinate client progress and needs with team; collaborate with team to identify, refer, and help access other community resources needed or of benefit to the person served, inclusive of social, behavioral health, housing, financial, social and recreational and transportation resources.


Minimum Qualifications:
  • License in good standing as an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) in the State of Nebraska.
  • Minimum of 2 to 5 years of clinical experience.
  • Demonstrated knowledge, clinical skills, and experience providing treatment to persons with mental illness, including persons with co-occurring mental illness and substance use disorders.
  • BLS – Basic Life Support through the American Heart Association upon hire.
  • Active Federal DEA License
