Summary:

Community Alliance, a leader in community mental health care in Nebraska for over forty years, is seeking a Chief Financial Officer.

The Chief Financial Officer has overall responsibility for fiscal planning, leadership, administration and management, inclusive of the development, implementation, and evaluation of operational strategies which further the achievement of the organization’s mission, goals, and objectives as it relates to financial operations and functioning, general accounting systems, cost management, and fiscal analysis. As a member of the senior administrative team, the Chief Financial Officer also provides leadership and direction in administrative, business, facilities, technology and asset allocation and management functions.


Duties Include:
  1. Develop and maintain effective systems of general accounting, cash management, and cost determination, including general ledger accounting, accounts payable, cash receipts, payroll, and client accounts.
  2. Coordinate development of annual operating, capital, and program budgets.
  3. Oversee completion of independent financial audit and other finance related audits by regulatory bodies.
  4. Oversee the annual federal indirect rate negotiation and cost reporting requirements by federal and state partners. 
  5. Work cooperatively with administrative, managerial, and fiscal staff to monitor, analyze, and report organizational results and provide guidance, assistance, and feedback to the same to advance organizational goals and objectives.
  6. Assist in overseeing investments in accordance with Board approved investment policy and Board/Committee direction.
  7. Direct and supervise third party billing functions, including contract negotiation, credentialing, claims processing and collections.
  8. Direct and supervise grant fiscal management including budgeting, billings, fiscal reporting, audits and analysis. 
  9. Supervise billing ad accounting staff, oversee HUD subsidy housing projects including compliance and rent calculations and collection.

Minimum Qualifications:

Qualified by advanced training and experience to exercise leadership, analytical and professional skills, independent problem-solving and decision-making in all aspects of position job duties, including:

  1. Bachelor’s degree in finance/accounting or other directly relevant field from an accredited academic institution.
  2. Minimum eight years progressively responsible experience in accounting and fiscal management.
  3. Demonstrated knowledge, skills, and/or experience in the organization and management of a healthcare organization.

    Preferred:

  4. Master’s Degree in finance/accounting or other directly relevant field from an accredited academic institution.
